We would officially like to welcome Panasonic Energy into the De Soto community!

Yes, Panasonic Energy is building the world’s largest electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility right here in De Soto. Yes, this will bring many highly-skilled careers to the region and provide opportunities for our children to stay in Kansas. Yes, this large investment will allow De Soto to, once again, be an economic engine in the region.

But nothing is more important than who you invite in your home, and Panasonic could not be a better fit for our community; their company values truly align with our goals of maintaining and increasing quality of life for residents. This picture of Panasonic Energy’s Executive Vice President, Yasuaki Takamoto, happily jumping into our City Staff/Council picture just shows their excitement to be a part of our future.

Check out our webpage on the Sunflower Redevelopment for continuous project updates. Anything you want us to cover? You can submit a question on the page, and we’ll get the FAQs updated. https://www.desotoks.us/297/Sunflower-Redevelopment
