Ty Masterson, a Kansas state legislator, recently shared updates on legislative actions and community engagement through his social media posts.

On March 24, 2026, Masterson addressed fiscal policy regarding public benefits for undocumented immigrants. He stated, “Too many taxpayer dollars have been wasted over the years going to illegal aliens. Today, we sent to the Governor’s desk a bill putting a stop to the waste and avoiding costly federal litigation. It’s completely unfair for Kansas taxpayers to fund benefits for people illegally in”.

The following day, March 25, 2026, Masterson highlighted his involvement with youth leadership initiatives at the State Capitol. He wrote, “I was invited to speak with the Real Men Real Leaders group alongside Senator Clifford during their visit to the State Capitol recently. I was impressed by these young men’s dedication to self-improvement and making a positive impact in their community through volunteer service.”

On March 26, 2026, Masterson recognized long-serving Senate staff members. He posted, “Recently, we honored Vanita and Harlan Hunt with tributes for their many years of service to the Kansas Senate. Vanita served in the Senate for over 20 sessions as an enrolling clerk, delivering hundreds of passed bills to the Governor. Her husband Harland, also served the Senate”.

Kansas has seen ongoing debates over state funding for services provided to undocumented immigrants and periodic efforts by lawmakers to restrict such spending or align state law with federal immigration policy.
