Cost of college went up for all students at the Washburn Institute of Technology

Tuition and fees rose 10.4 percent for 2018-19 at the Washburn Institute of Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kansas students paid $7,632 to attend the public school this year – $720 more than the $6,912 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 74 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 124 students received grants or scholarships totaling $469,779 and 61 students took out student loans totaling more than $282,784.

Including all undergraduates (1,417), 1,175 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.5 million, and 290 students took out $1.6 million in federal student loans.
