Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson shared several updates on his social media account on February 19, 2026, including commendations for state attorneys and remarks on current political issues.
In a post from the early morning, Masterson expressed support for two Kansas attorneys: “My good friends Tony Powell and Tony Mattivi are two of the finest attorneys Kansas has to offer. I’m thankful for their service to our great state as Solicitor General and KBI Director, and I know they will both be fantastic judges on the U.S. District Court. Congratulations!” (posted February 19, 2026).
Later that day, he reflected on a recent visit with young leaders from Wichita: “The JR ROTC from Wichita stopped by my office recently and we had a great time discussing their willingness to serve and why good relationships are essential to be an effective leader. These young men and women are wise beyond their years. I look forward to all the great things” (posted February 19, 2026).
In an evening post, Masterson addressed national politics with criticism of Democratic lawmakers: “Democrats are once again holding federal employees and the tax dollars of the American people hostage in an attempt to prevent the Trump Administration from deporting dangerous criminal illegals from Kansas and the rest of our nation. Laura Kelly should use her national platform” (posted February 19, 2026).
Ty Masterson serves as President of the Kansas Senate. The individuals mentioned in his first post—Tony Powell and Tony Mattivi—hold positions as Solicitor General and KBI Director respectively.
