Former Washburn Rural pitcher Cooper Carlgren competes March 15 in Division I baseball for Lamar

On Sunday, March 15, at 1:05 p.m., Cooper Carlgren, a former standout from Washburn Rural High School, helped his current college team, the Lamar Cardinals, defeat the McNeese State Cowboys 11-10 in an NCAA Division I baseball contest.

Vincent-Beck Stadium hosted the game. It marked their third meeting with the Cowboys this season. The Cardinals secured a 5-0 victory over the Cowboys in their previous game on Saturday, March 14.

Carlgren pitched 1.2 innings and registered one strikeout.

The Cardinals are set to play again Tuesday, March 17, at 6:05 p.m. at Vincent-Beck Stadium against the Sam Houston Bearkats.
