FOIA Request to Kansas State Executive – State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Topeka Sun have sent a request under the Kansas Open Records Act § 45-215 et seq. to the Kansas State Executive – State Board of Education. The request seeks a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and/or general instruction.

Our aim is to ensure transparency and hold public institutions accountable by disseminating this information to the public. We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities as a media organization. As such, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional in accordance with the provisions of the Kansas Open Records Act.

We will continue to follow up on this request and provide updates as they become available.
