254th Road over an Unnamed Tributary of Elk Creek Circleville East Bridge Replacement 

Bids will be accepted until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023, at the Office of the Jackson

County Clerk, located in the Jackson County Courthouse, 400 New York Avenue, Holton, KS 66436.

Bids will be opened and read aloud at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023, during the Board of

County Commissioners meeting at the Jackson County Courthouse.

Copies of the Plans, Specifications, and other Contract Documents are on file and available for public

inspection at the office of the Jackson County Public Works Department located at 24569 Hwy 75,

Holton, KS 66436. Care Of: Mr. Scott Kieffaber, Phone: 785-362-3722

Copies of Plans and Specifications can be obtained from the Jackson Public Works Department.

No Bidders may withdraw a bid for a period of 30 days following the opening of the Bids.

The character and amount of security to be furnished by each Bidder is stated in the Contract

Documents.

Working Days, the Proposed Start Date and the Bid Amount will all be considered in the awarding of

the bid.

Jackson County Board of Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive

formalities in the considering Bids and to accept the Bid which, in the Board’s opinion, is in the best

interests of Jackson County.

The bridge crosses an Unnamed Tributary of the Elk Creek and is located 0.1 miles east of the

intersection of 254th Road and K Road. The project is located 0.3 miles east of Circleville, KS.

All proposals for said work must be made on blanks furnished by the County Road Department and

must be accompanied by bid security of not less than 5% of the amount bid. Bid security to be made

payable to the County Clerk of Jackson County, Kansas, and will be held by Jackson County as

liquidated damages in case the bid is accepted and the bidder neglects or refuses to enter into contract

and furnish bond in accordance herewith.
